A CPD course designed for those in the animal care sector.  Topics will include understanding behaviour and low stress handling techniques for the sensitive dog. You will learn positive reinforcement training techniques to build a dog's confidence while it is being handled and treated. You will also be provided with transferable literature that you can use to show clients how to prepare their dogs for low stress handling 

 

 

Canine Core Strength and Proprioception

 

13th May 2020

 

This day will be of interest to dog owners, trainers and therapists. We will look at how and why we should strengthen the core muscles in the dog. The day will be a mix of theory and practical work.

 

 

Alternative Techniques for the Equine M/S Therapist 1

 

19th May 2020

 

A CPD day for Level 6 or 7 musculoskeletal practitioners. Delegates will learn additional techniques including motion palpation and mobilisation of the spine, ribs and sternum.

 

Canine Gait and Lameness

 

10th June 2020

 

This day will be of interest to dog owners, trainers and therapists. We will look at normal gait patterns to aid identification of the abnormal, a system of analysing gait and identifying lameness in the dog.

This day will be of interest to therapists and horse owners alike. There will be a mixture of theory and practical demonstrations. You will learn how to improve a horse's core strength and in turn how to build topline. The core muscles are key to good posture, in preventing injury and improving performance
